The Silsburg urban development project is located at a strategic location, balancing between the dense residential areas of Deurne and a constellation of unconnected natural pockets reaching south from the Rivierenhof / Ruggeveld park.
Ongoing research scrutinizes possibilities in merging a qualitative built-up area with a large-scale ecological corridor, connecting new developments and valuable existing open space north and south of the site. Parallel to this larger framework, a more detailed development plan for the northern part facing the Van Strydoncklaan is under development. This plan takes into account the topography, existing natural values and infrastructural feasibility on the site. A qualitative urban development with housing in various forms and typologies, supported by green open areas and a network of car-free streets.
