Charleroi
Urbanism
A new hospital of no less than 145,000 m² is currently being built in Charleroi. The initiator is the GHDC (Grand Hôpital de Charleroi). The hospital will be completed in 2024. As a result, a number of sites where hospitals are still operational today will become available for reallocation at that time.
The first two sites to be considered for redevelopment are Saint-Joseph and Reine Fabiola, in the boroughs of Gilly and Montignies-sur-Sambre respectively. B-city has been appointed to design the urban master plans for both of these sites. We are supported by Reservoir A and Goffart Polomé.
Reine Fabiola is a 3 ha site, Saint-Joseph a site of almost 5 ha. In both cases, a lively residential neighbourhood will be developed that will meet all contemporary sustainability standards.
