We are pleased to welcome you at our main office on Sunday 17 October during the Dag van de architectuur. Pay us a visit between 11 and 16 h and let us show you around ‘Anyplace’.
Find out more about our projects and the themes we set great store by as a design studio: sustainability and circular building, cohousing projects, B-bis’ smaller-scale architecture and more. Meet the B-family, discover our best scale models with a word of explanation, follow a tour around our workplaces or just stroll around with your family in our cosy, sunlit courtyard garden. In short: no reasons not to come.
In addition to this all-day program, we organise a series of lectures on our working method and a selection of our current projects.
11h: B is
A look behind the scenes of our office, given by Sven Grooten, general manager of B-architecten, B-bis and B-city.
Domien Wuyts and Larissa van Aalst explain the design for the new head office of water purification company Aquafin in Aartselaar - a paragon of sustainable and circular construction for the office of tomorrow.
13h: BWMSTR Label: Nieuwe Bronnen van Ontmoeten in de Stad
With the BWMSTR label, the Vlaamse Bouwmeester wants to pick up innovative and policy-relevant ideas from research and design practices. B was selected with its research project 'Nieuwe Bronnen van Ontmoeten in de Stad'. Hanne De Vos and Silke De Greef explain their research question and focus on how we can reintroduce meeting places around water into the public, urban environment, where people like to meet and are more aware of the impending water shortage.
14h: Meir city building
A must for every resident of Antwerp: Kristiaan Van Weert explains the design of the new Meir city building, which will enrich this iconic location with, among other things, a new campus for the Karel de Grote Hogeschool and a department store.
15h: Oudaan site
Sven Grooten and Patrick Janssens present possible future scenarios for the development of this linkage point in the Antwerp city centre.
